Query by Mikey D:
How challenging is it for a particular person raised vegetarian to begin eating meat?
I am organizing on beginning a family and would like to increase my young children vegetarian. My non-vegetarian wife is ok with producing that selection for them till they are old enough to make a decision for themselves…but she is concerned that if they a single day choose to eat meat, they will not be physically in a position to make the transition. If a person is raised to in no way consume meat, how would their body react if they made the decision to do so when they are older?
I am a vegan myself and morally opposed to employing animals for food. I would like to instill that belief in my kids. As I am very open to them producing their personal selection when they are old enough, I just want to know that option will be obtainable to them if that is what they 1 day select.

——————————————

Solution by wahoo10001
If they ease into it there will be no issue.

Reply by Serbian, Irish & Engaged
my friend’s sister was raised vegetarian and when she got older she went on a trip and made the decision to begin off eating fish and then chicken, i believe she just produced the choice for herself and tried it to see if she liked it and when she found that out she just began consuming it more and a lot more.

i never think it’ll affect them as badly as you feel.

why do you want to raise them veggie? and good cause to hold them from meat? if not, i’d propose letting them consume meat due to the fact if they are and your wife is not and she is the 1 cooking her own meat and they smell it and like it, i believe it might harm your feelings.

why are you imposing this on them? not being imply, just a question.

Answer by Ka W
if they begin off out with a bite here and there, they will get employed to it and than be capable to deal with a entire steak ):

Reply by Lexie
my fathers gluten completely free and I am vegetarian so I might be able to support. Surprisingly there are a great deal of items you can make – like any variety of rice with vegetables and/or tofu, spring rolls, sushi instead of fish you can use tofu, or california rolls, salsa and corn tortilla chips, corn tacos with beef alternative or lentils. For desert you can make gluten free of charge cookies, cheesecake, ice cream, or meringue with fruit and whipped cream.

Reply by Melissa Swan
chillie with rice
scrambled tofu
shepherds pie
lentil stew
gluten free pasta with bolognaise
lasagna made with thin strips of zucchini or slices of squash as a alternative of pasta sheets
pesto stuffed mushrooms
stuffed portabello mushroom
curry with rice

chocolate mousse pie http://www.welikeitraw.com/rawfood/2005/ten/joels_carob_mou.html
use cocoa powder rather of carob, simply because carob tends to make some individuals throw up

Question by AnimalLover<3:
Been a vegetarian for two months, what advice can you offer me?
I’ve been a vegetarian for two months, and I have had no problems. Nevertheless, members of my loved ones, buddies, as nicely as posts I have study, claim that I ought to be mindful with my vegetarian diet regime. Should I be taking certain vitamins? I have heard the two good and negative issues about soy, so what is the common consensus really should I be consuming it? I am rather new at this life-style, so any assist would be much appreciated.

——————————————

Reply by X♥X ROCK PRINCESS X♥X
I’ve tried soy milk and dont truly like it.
Its supposed to be excellent for you although, and no child cows had to suffer to make it.

Answer by zona3444
Quit what your performing Your body stipulations protien. Just go easy on what you consume. Vegetarians do not reside longer than individuals who view what they consume. For godssake dont turn out to be a Vegan. Thats some type of liberal culture garbage men and women get sucked into. Be kind to your body

Solution by Kat D
well you have to eat a lot of protein to make up for all of the protein that is not acquiring into your entire body by way of meat. you should think about plenty of viatamins. i am a vegetarian and I have c’s , multies, and b -12′s

Query by :
How considerably does a vegan diet program benifit you and your body?
I’ve just lately gone on a vegan diet regime and its been four days. I havent lost any weight, and I dont feel that a lot a lot more energetic even though my skin looks healthier. Have you been on a vegan diet program? If yes then please tell me all about what you went by way of and how considerably variation it created. If you havent been on a vegan diet regime but know some thing about it, then do share.

——————————————

Solution by Final H
I’ve accomplished the vegan thing two occasions. Each single time I went for about a few months. It was out of curiosity and interest. But I did not stay on it. I did feel energetic but I was not positive what the longer phrase effects would be. As in many years.

Never forget the benefits that meat has. We absorb iron from red meat far superior than most vegetables with iron. Egg whites are a exceptional supply of protein. We get protein from egg whites ideal when they are cooked. Canned sardines are fantastic for protein and calcium. And sardines are very low on the meals chain so they have small if any traces of supposed mercury pollution.

Answer by friendofchip
4 days and you have not lost Weight? Never you want to do any operate oneself? Difference? If all you are undertaking is trying to shed weight then eat fewer calories.

Solution by Island Spirit
Currently being vegan is a philosophy, way of living and set of beliefs which opposes commodification of animals in each way, including for food, clothing, merchandise, testing and for entertainment. No animal generates anything at all for the benefit of human consumption and animals are not property.

It is not a excess weight loss diet.

Inside 2 months of not eating animals, all my allergic reactions went away. As an omnivore, I was allergic to cats, canines, birds, horses, dust, perfume, pollen, grass, each single animal I went close to created my eyes, nose and throat itch. All allergy symptoms went away when I stopped consuming animals. Even though my weight might fluctuate somewhat dependent on my eating routines and degree of activity, I have in no way had a weight difficulty but right after not consuming animal goods my total percentage of entire body body fat dropped even though retaining lean muscle in my arms, legs and abs.

But the very ideal component about getting vegan has been the joy and inner peace I get pleasure from from figuring out that no animal dies for the advantage of my nourishment.

Not eating animals is healther for people and decreases threat of diseases such as heart illness, osteoporosis, cancers, stroke, diabetes and obesity.

Raising animals for food is the single biggest cause of depletion of the planet’s all-natural sources at a quicker price than ever predicted.

Killing animals for meals is cruel and unnecessary. There is a connection amongst killing animals and killing individuals.

——————————————

Question by :
What type of vegan yogurt should I buy?
So I have lately made a decision to go vegan, and nowadays I located some vegan yogurt at the grocery retailer. I picked Stonyfield O’Soy raspberry flavored soy yogurt, and I just attempted it. Well, it’s disgusting. I like soy products like soy milk, soy cheese, and tofu, but this yogurt is merely disgusting! Are there any other vegan yogurt manufacturers you know of that are not so disgusting? Thanks!

——————————————

Answer by mermaid
It depends in which you live but in UK i buy Alpro yogurt it tastes much superior than dairy yogurt and Alpro also make cream, i dont know if this brand is avalible in other nations.

Solution by friendofchip
Coconut milk yoghurt is lovely, but like the other poster stated it depends on the brand. I have had coconut yoghurt in Thailand and Malaysia, so pretty. ALmond milk yoghurt is great, and rice milk, but in truth I have by no means eaten soyyoghurt. I am not the most significant yoghurt fan. And anytime I want a smooth kind of point I go for fresh coconut, or puree papaya, or silky tofu. Freshly created silk tofu, or a really very good fresh soymilk with dates and other fruit is a lovely thing- not muddy tasting at all. Not much aid for manufacturers, but if you can get to a CHinese or Thai supermarket, try out that- they should offer FRESH soymilk and tofu to make yoghurt from.
Or else try a very good European marketplace with nut milk yoghurt.

Answer by anonymous
I like the silk brand, they also make soy milk.

A Wide assortment of fruits and vegetables. Onions,Tomatoes,Cucumber,Zucchini,
Eggplant,Spinach,Mushrooms(okay, it really is technically a fungus, but still yummy!),
Sweet Potatoes,Bananas,Strawberries and so on.

If you are on a tight spending budget. Get the things that is on sale,in season etc.

Solution by Erik the Mentioned
Nuts.
I’m not vegan but I like: pineapple, apples, bananas, tomatos, black olives. Also ginger you can get it whole or in capsule type.

Reply by MargaretT
It depends on if you like to cook and prepare your very own food a lot. Hopefully, you do, since preparing your food is not only cheaper, but healthier for you. So I would certainly go with some staples to stock up your pantry.
Grains like quinoa (complete protein!), rice, oats, and so on.
Pastas – get a gluten-free pasta like quinoa pasta for healthier and gluten-cost-free
Beans and legumes – my favourites are lentils and black beans
Vegetables like onions, peppers, corn, and tomatoes can go in practically something you cook
Leafy greens like kale and spinach are truly excellent and a rapid easy addition to practically any recipe
Fruits – buy in season to get fresher and healthier stuff. If you can not, frozen can be just as excellent
You can get some great offers, dependent on where you reside, on issues like limes, avocados, and satsuma oranges proper now.

Crucial wheat gluten (if you can have gluten) is also a wonderful addition so that you can make your very own seitan. It’s very simple, tasty, and way more inexpensive to make your personal than to buy pre-created. I normally just make mine up as I go, as I have made it so a lot of times, but Isa Moskowitz has a excellent a single in her book Veganomicon. It really is reposted here: http://heart1lly.wordpress.com/2010/06/07/recipe-easy-seitan/
Nutritional yeast is a wonderful addition to practically any recipe to give it a wonderful cheesy nutty flavor. It’s also excellent for cheese sauces, like alfredo. my favourite recipe is here: http://veganyumyum.com/2009/09/hurry-up-alfredo-vyy-cookbook/
Ground flax is wonderful, particularly if you happen to be a baker. you can use it to alternative for eggs in recipes, or just add it to items like smoothies and granola bars for an additional boost.

Other staples I like to stock up on when they are on sale:
almond or rice milk
fresh nuts – when you can get them cheap, just preserve them in an airtight container in the freezer

For spices, often bring your own bags or containers and stock up in the bulk section! It is a lot less costly that way. Some wonderful spices for the season are cinnamon and nutmeg (I add a pinch of nutmeg to virtually anything I make these days). Great items to always have on hand are rosemary, parsley, cilantro, garlic, cumin, any type of mint, basil, and paprika. I also like to add cayenne pepper to factors if I want to spice it up a bit.

A couple of factors to get if you want to splurge:
area roast smoked apple sage sausages
tofu and tempeh – I often keep a few packages in my freezer just in case
Daiya cheese
Tofutti cuties ice cream sandwiches or Almond Dream ice cream bites
So Tasty Coconut Milk Nog
your favourite non-dairy yogurt

Good luck and have fun buying!

Answer by One particular Existence One particular Likelihood
when I was younger, my parents attempted to trick me into eating meat. One particular time they have been producing spaghetti and they said they were not cooking meat to put in it, so I looked at the jar of sauce, and it was the meat sauce. They had normally do things like that, but I usually caught them. Then when I was granted to use the oven, I cooked my very own meals. Now I trick them into eating vegitarian/vegan foods but they fall for it.
